The most complicated properties calculations are in the critical point, where all thermophysical properties are subjected to very significant variations, i.e., almost vertical drops or rises or have peaking functions. This version includes 147 pure fluids, 5 pseudo-pure fluids (e.g., air, etc.), and mixtures with up to 20 components. Just two years ago, i.e., in 2018, the latest version was released – Ver. Time from time this program is updated with new fluids, or/and a wider range of pressures and temperatures, or/and with improved equations/correlations. For tens of years, the NIST REFPROP program is used for these calculations, which can be possibly considered as the best one in the world. The REFPROP database is recommended over SUPERTRAPP when REFPROP contains the fluids of interest.Any heat transfer or thermodynamics calculations as well as many other calculations require a solid knowledge of various physical/thermophysical/thermodynamics properties of various fluids (liquids, vapours, and gases) within a wide range of pressures and temperatures from lower ones and up to critical and supercritical ones. These results include: Equilibrium properties: density, compressibility factor, enthalpy, entropy, Cp, Cp/Cv, sound speed, Joule-Thomson coefficient Transport properties: viscosity, thermal conductivity Features: bubble and dew point pressure calculations bubble and dew point temperature calculations flash calculations () saturation properties for pure components tables of thermophysical properties with user selected dependent and independent variables ability to add new fluids using minimal data (user must supply at least Tc, Pc, Vc, MW and boiling point) ability to estimate properties of petroleum fractions characterized by an average normal boiling point and an API gravity choice of units FORTRAN source code for property calculations NOTE: Many of the fluids contained in SUPERTRAPP are also available in the REFPROP database. SUPERTRAPP performs phase equilibria calculations and gives the thermophysical properties of all phases and the feed. The components are selected from a database of 210 components, mostly hydrocarbons. SUPERTRAPP is an interactive computer program for predicting thermodynamic and transport properties of pure fluids and fluid mixtures containing up to 20 components.
